Visual Stories – Art Competition and Exhibition

The Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival is calling for emerging and established artists to enter its Visual Stories Art Exhibition & Competition.

Artists are invited to submit works that communicate and showcase the power of storytelling and the unique sense of place that is Wadandi Boodja through their chosen medium. 

Work can be submitted in any artistic medium and artists are encouraged to be brave, challenge conventions and create works that will stimulate new conversations, change perspectives and spark joy.  The exhibition will be on display in Nala Bardip Mia – the Margaret River HEART foyer gallery from 24 April–30 May 2025.

The entry fee is $25 and the number of entries is capped at 60. Max one entry per person.  

Entry is open to artists from the Shire of Augusta Margaret River, City of Busselton and Shire of Nannup aged over 17. All submissions must be offered for sale at a reasonable price.  

• Entries open Tuesday 25 February and close Monday 7 April 2025.
• Delivery of work on Thursday 17 April 2025 10am–4pm to Nala Bardip Mia – the Margaret River HEART, 47 Wallcliffe Rd, Margaret River WA 6285.  
• Collection of work on Wednesday 4 June 2025 10am–4pm.
