Melody Dia

Melody Dia is a proud Nyul Nyul woman from Broome, Western Australia, has a mixed heritage of Indonesian, Indian, and European descent. Her passion for theater ignited when she saw the original stage play of Bran Nue Dae as a young girl. Inspired by Shakespeare, she participated in the Goolarri Writers Program. Her first play, FIFO – Fit in or F**k Off!, premiered in October 2020 and is now a published play through Magabala Books. Melody’s new work Because we’re Blak! is in development and scheduled for 2024.
