Come and meet our amazing children’s authors at this years Storytelling Snug and take part in FREE storytelling sessions for all ages. 

Sessions will inspire creativity, celebrate storytelling and foster a love of reading and writing.

2023 esther krogdahl

Esther Krogdahl

Author and game narrative designer, Esther Krogdahl loves sharing her unique and interesting path through the world of games narrative design into children’s picture book publishing.

Grumbelina, Esther’s first rhyming children’s book, was inspired by her own daughter’s overnight tyrannical transformation at three-and-a-half and the desire to write for parents about this challenging yet rewarding time.

Steve Heron

Steve uses his forty years of experience working with children in social/emotional wellbeing to cultivate and underpin his writing. He blends the elements of heart, hope, humour and help to create children’s books that touch and tickle hearts. His picture book Ling Li’s lantern was recently awarded Northern Lights Book Award’s for the best picture book all ages category.

Jayden Boundry

Jayden is a proud Wadjak, Ballardong Noongar and Badimaya Yamatji man with strong family ties throughout the Southwest of WA. A traditional Noongar dancer, qualified LOTE Noongar language teacher, didgeridoo player and tool maker, Jayden is very passionate about celebrating culture and especially about sharing his knowledge with others.

Tyrown Waigana 

Tyrown Waigana is a Wandandi Noongar and Ait Koedal artist / designer with connections to the south-west or Western Australia and Saibai Island in the Torres Strait. He has a multiple disciplinarily practice including graphic design, illustration, painting, animation and sculpture. He takes on a variety of projects from corporate commission to highly conceptual fine art. Tyrown enjoys taking on projects that allow me to grow as an artist.

Julia Lawrinson 

Julia Lawrinson has written more than a dozen books for children and teenagers, many of them award-winning. She grew up in the outer suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, not long after the first moon landing. She loves dogs, oceans, and sunsets, and still likes to gaze at the night sky, just in case. Her latest book is City of Light (Wild Dog Books) and she has just completed a memoir entitled How To Avoid A Happy Life.
