Dr Anita Heiss is an award-winning Wiradyuri author of 23 books spanning non-fiction, historical fiction, women’s fiction, and children’s literature. A Professor at the University of Queensland and Publisher at Large at Bundyi, she champions First Nations voices. Her novel Bila Yarrudhanggalangdhuray won the 2022 NSW Premier’s Indigenous Writers’ Prize. An advocate for Indigenous literacy, she also serves on multiple boards supporting social justice and the arts. Her latest books are Dirrayawadha (historical fiction) and Red Dust Running (romantic comedy).
