Josh Kemp’s debut novel, Banjawarn, was the winner of the 2021 Dorothy Hewett Award for an Unpublished Manuscript. In this session he explains how he came to write this modern gothic fiction road-trip western about a down-and-out writer who rescues a young girl abandoned in the harsh landscape of the northern goldfields.
