Arts Margaret River is very happy to announce that we have been awarded a Regional Arts WA, RAF Recovery grant, supported by the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund Recovery Boost to help deliver the Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival 2021

The last year has been traumatic for the events industry, with many events having to be cancelled at late notice. Although we in the South West have been extremely lucky and have been able to continue to plan and host events on a much smaller scale, the future remains very uncertain, especially with continued community cases, lockdowns, and border closures.

Festival and Creative Director, Sian Baker said, “We are hugely excited and honoured to be recognised for this vital grant funding. After such a devastating year for everyone in events and the arts, the recognition and ongoing support from Regional Arts WA and the Federal Government is a lifeline to our festival and our region’s recovery”.

Sian is also extremely excited about the knock-on effects that the grant funding will have on our regional and local community.

“Our community has been hit hard, but their support and positivity have been unwavering. We are looking forward to helping to boost our regional economy, help drive tourism, and elevate the profile of our amazing South West region”.

Michelle Wright, General Manager of Arts Margaret River also added her thanks to Regional Arts WA, “We are grateful for the continued support to bring the biggest regional literacy festival to our community for the 13th year’.

The Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival 2021 will take place on 14-16th May at Margaret River HEART, our new state-of-the-art Hub of Entertainment, Arts, and Regional Tourism venue.

Tickets are due to go on sale in early March 2021.
