Lisa Walker

Lisa is the author of five novels, most recently a YA coming-of-age story Paris Syndrome (HarperCollins, 2018) and a climate change comedy, Melt (Lacuna, 2018). Her other novels are: Liar Bird, Sex, Lies and Bonsai (HarperCollins) and Arkie’s Pilgrimage to the Next Big Thing (Random House). Lisa’s writing has appeared in the Review of Australian Fiction, Griffith Review and The Age. She was winner of the Byron Writers Festival Short Story Award in 2008 and finalist in the ABC Short Story Award in 2007. Her radio play, Baddest Backpackers was produced by Radio National in 2008. She was awarded the Varuna HarperCollins Award in 2011 and the Varuna Litlink Award in 2009 and 2015. She has previously worked in environmental communication and as a wilderness guide. She has Masters degrees in creative writing and natural resource management and is a PhD candidate in creative writing at University of Queensland. www.lisawalker.com.au
