Sarah Drummond

Living on a remote, off grid, south coast property in Western Australia, Sarah has written two books; Salt Story, of sea dogs and fisherwomen and The Sound. She has essays and stories published in several academic journals and anthologies, including Fremantle Press’ Women of a Certain Age and Purple Prose. She has worked as a roadhouse attendant, barista, barmaid, commercial fisherwoman and landscape gardener. Sarah currently tutors at the University of Western Australia’s Albany campus, prunes roses for cash and works up a firetower looking for smoke during the burning and bushfire season. Sarah considers the elemental nature of the bush and the sea to be integral characters in her writing.
